Vietnam – The third largest textile exporter in the word
The export turnover of Vietnam’s textiles & garment products reached 39.5 billion USD in 2019, an increase of 7.55% over the same period in 2018. Vietnam has now surpassed India to become the 3 third largest textile & garment export country in the world. However, Vietnam does not produce textile machinery and therefore must import a significant number of machines and parts to meet the demand for order growth.
Growing your business in Vietnam
Vietnam is participating in 14 trade agreements including the EVFTA, CPTPP and new generation FTAs. To achieve zero taxes, Vietnam needs to invest in yarn, weaving, dyeing, printing, and other areas.
Textile Exports continue to grow
The USA is the largest export market for Vietnam’s textile & garment products, reaching USD 15.2 billion in 2019, an increase of 8.9% from 2018. By contrast, exports to other areas in 2019 were as follows: the EU reached USD 4.4 billion, an increase of 2.23%; China reached USD 4.25 billion, and increase of 7.05%; Japan reached USD 4.2 billion, an increase of 5%; South Korea reached USD 4 billion, an increase of 4.42%; and the ASEAN reached USD 2.1 billion, an increase of 5.38%.
Potential Buyers
Many famous international brands visited SaigonTex 2019, such as Ralph Lauren, DECATHLON, GAP, and SportMaster. Garment factories, such as VINATEX, NHABE, LTP Garment, Alpine Creations, Global Fashion Apparel, and Aurora Investments Global Limited, as well as sourcing companies such as MGF Sourcing, were also there.
